After washing and putting the soap back on the soap dish, we recommend draining off the excess water from the soap dish so that the soap does not sit in the puddle. This would make it unnecessarily soft and soggy. Remove the straw when in use.  The normal shelf life of handmade soaps is 1 year from the date of manufacture. Some soap lasts longer, others for a shorter time.
